Telehealth Sessions
How does it work?
There are numerous benefits of telehealth as outlined below:
- Accessibility – particularly for clients who live rurally, are travelling or have a busy work or personal schedule.
- Convenience – especially for clients who are time challenged due to work or family commitments.
- Comfort – particularly for clients who find comfort in their own environment rather than coming to the office or if you are feeling unwell and wish to continue with your therapy session.
Can I Still Claim a Medicare Rebate if the Session is Telehealth?
Yes! If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), Medicare will still provide a rebate for your session even if it is a video or phone call.
The only exception is for overseas clients. Medicare will only provide a rebate if you are in Australia at the time of your telehealth session.
You can also use your private health fund for telehealth sessions if psychology is covered.
All our psychologists provide telehealth sessions – please contact us if you would like to start this journey with us!
How Transformations Clinical Psychology Conducts Telehealth Sessions:
- We conduct telehealth sessions via our practice software which uses Zoom.
- You will require a personal Zoom account. If you don’t already have one, you can register for a free account by clicking here.
- Alternatively, if you require a phone call session, the psychologist will call you at the time of your appointment.
